Addware is a commonly know type of computer malware which is not usually damaging to your computer or computer resources yet it is undesirable and a pain. In some forms, addware can actually be cool and offer interesting information. Otherwise, it is a kind of software that supports advertisements. Usually it gets installed on the computer system automatically by actions such as clicking on a web page, viewing a link, granting permission to some online based program, and allowing addware to install during installation of other software.

Often spyware will get installed with a warning but it may occur without a warning as well. Once the adware gets installed and starts acting on the computer, it will automatically fetch or download ads, and will display or install them on your computer. This activity may lead to a very annoying level and may even make it very difficult to use your PC. Such malware may also behave as spyware that will collect sensitive individual information such as which websites the user visits often, the computer usage habits of the user, and the buying decisions of the user. A user may find such notifications useful such that he may receive some product recommendations or advertisements automatically but only when it happens with user's consent. If it is done without user's information or acknowledgment and the advertisements are displayed in an annoying manner, such actions definitely need to be prevented as it may not only be annoying for a computer user but may also be a serious threat to the user's privacy and user's details.

The next obvious question is how to counteract such adware from infecting your PC or if they do then how to delete adware from your computer. Today adequate anti-adware or anti-spyware software have been developed that can easily remove any present adware from your computer and prevent your computer from any further adware attacks. Though the adware are being introduced and changed all the time , anti-malware programs have also progressed and keep updating themselves to catch the latest types of adware. All such software have included addware and spyware detection, removal and preventions components while others offer additional addware/malware detection and removal add-ons. If you are a casual Internet user and your activities result in lots of spyware attacks on your PC, you can opt to install these optional add-ons to protect your computer, info, and your privacy.

Some of these programs may not be able to remove the spyware from your computer but will only be able to expose them. In such cases you will have to manually remove spyware. Usually these spyware are on your computer in the form of installed programs, so you can try to remove them through the usual software uninstall methods. Some times, you will have to turn off the internet if you want to remove adware completely, otherwise the adware may be restored immediately after the uninstallation process if the Internet is still online.
